The Mercenary archetype relates to people who are paid to kill as their job. Some people would say, “How can they do that; don’t they have a heart?” But there is no heart in the Mercenary archetype. It would be logical for you to say, “Well, how can I have the Mercenary archetype if I haven’t killed someone?” But there are also Mercenaries in business. You can be a financial Mercenary with an honor code of “business is business,” a creed of business that allows mercenary acts. The top-level Enron executives were Mercenaries who took money from all those people who believed in them, and consciously destroyed their lives.
