STATEMAN/POLITICIAN
A Statesman is a dignified individual who brings creativity and originality to the politics of humanity. The phrase, “That person is a Statesman,” conjures up an image of someone like Winston Churchill, who epitomized the dignity of all he achieved. Sadly, today’s world lacks true Statesmen and Stateswomen; they are just few and far between. There is, however, a proliferation of Politicians. The Politician is the shadow side of the Statesman, and someone we all assume to be dishonest. It is an unfortunate assumption that they are dishonest and can be bought by lobbyists. We have a negative attitude toward Politicians. All we have to do is say, “He’s such a Politician,” and everybody knows what that means—that is an archetype.
